New product Fluconax

Fluconazole is the latest, active substance gained through synthesis from the triazole group, used for treatment of surface and systemic fungal infections.
It is anti-fungal and acts against numerous pathogenic fungi.

It acts as an inhibitor of ergosterol synthesis changing the membrane of the fungus and preventing its growth and reproduction.

All azoles interact with the the enzymes of the cytochrome P 450 system.

Triazole's affinity (fluconazole) is larger towards the fungal P 450 system than towards the human, so toxicity and triazole's interactions are less frequent than those of imidazole (cetoconazole, miconazole).

Fluconax is on the CIHI list of drugs.
