JGL Markets the First Product Developed at its Factory in Serbia

JGL’s new product, Gingermina, a ginger-based food supplement used for nausea, vomiting, motion sickness and indigestion, will be placed on the Serbian and Croatian markets in early March, and on the Slovenian market in April.

It is the first product that was not developed at the Rijeka headquarters, but was rather developed independently by JGL’s pharmacists at JGL Belgrade Sopot, a Serbian company that is part of the JGL Group.

It is a food supplement that contains dry ginger root extract standardized to 5% gingerol and contributes to the normal function of the digestive system.

It has been a little over a year from the initial idea at the beginning of 2016 to receiving a decision to put it on the market in Serbia, and then in Croatia. According to JGL’s Director in Serbia, Petra Konosić, the idea ofdeveloping Gingermina was to create a ginger extract-based product that has similar indications to JGL’s Dramina, such as reducing nausea and vomiting while travelling, but to also make it usable by pregnant women as a herbal extract-based product for morning sickness, and to contribute to the normal function of the digestive system.

In other words, ginger extract is traditionally used for indigestion; it helps as a carminative and relieves coughing, nausea and vomiting, as well as loss of appetite, but it also helps with inflammation of the mucous membrane.
