Operations and production specialist
Vladimir Maleš has a degree in food engineering and has been with JGL for 14 years. For many years, he was in charge of the solutions department, and in recent years he has been working in the production support department. Vlado has excellent analytical skills and likes to review documents, and he is especially proud of JGL’s GMP culture, in which he has trained over 700 of our employees.
He also welcomes every new guest as he takes the leading role during each visit and tour of JGL made by outside visitors. “I pay the same amount of attention to each tour and group of a hundred visitors, and always invest the same amount of energy, enthusiasm, and passion into presenting JGL,” says this versatile teacher of Italian who spends his free time by giving language lessons to students and practising dancesport, yoga, and ayurveda.
Market director Serbia
Petra Konosić is a pharmacy graduate, who began working as an expert associate at JGL in 2006. After years of experience of working in the CRM segment, in 2017 she was appointed market director for Serbia, one of the strategically most important JGL markets in South-East Europe.
In addition to the many business challenges ahead of her, Petra is mostly motivated by a fair relationship with colleagues, openness, communication, learning, and business development. However, she will point out that she has her close team of colleagues to thank for her personal growth and development. “Being part of a large, successful company is great. I am very proud to be an integral part of it and work with so many people from whom I continue to learn,” says Petra.
Preformulation expert in R&D
Leo Štefan joined JGL in 2010 and spent the first six years in the Quality Assurance Department. He is currently working as a preformulation expert in R&D as part of a team in the Research and Preformulation Department. Leo says that hard-working people are without a doubt JGL’s greatest strength.
“When you are surrounded with the right people, joy and togetherness are present even in crisis situations, and no problem is too big. The value I would like to point out is the fact that there is no such thing as a very narrow specialization at JGL, which means that each employee has the chance to explore their area of work as thoroughly and widely as they want, and grow as a person and expert. The sky is the limit for those who apply themselves,“ concludes Leo, who is especially proud of JGL’s quality assurance system.
Maša Safundžić Kučuk
Director of research and development
“I am glad to be working at a company where each employee is offered the chance to grow, contribute, and exert positive influence. I like my job and have great colleagues. Of course, there are challenges, complications, and problems, but we always overcome them. A good team and a job well done contribute to a great work environment, which encourages us to achieve even better results.
For me, the greatest pleasure is that there is no routine. No two days are the same, and there is always something new going on.”, says Maša Safundžić Kučuk, who has a degree in chemical technology and has spent her entire career working in different positions in JGL’s Research and Development Department. Since 2016, Maša has occupied the position of Director of Research and Development. What makes her proud the most is JGL’s stability monitoring process, which she has worked hard to develop over the years together with her team.
Vesna Saršon Beltrame
Head of research and preformulation
Vesna Saršon Beltrame, a graduate sanitary engineer who has been with JGL since 2003, has dealt with packaging from her very first day – from sampling in the warehouse to writing procedures, specifications, development, analyses, etc.
Today she acts as the head of preformulations, and is, above all, motivated by working with her colleagues. “The general atmosphere in our work environment is warm and friendly, our communication is productive, and each person is ready to step in if one of their colleagues is struggling with deadlines. I am proud of the fact that we are a company where friendships are formed with ease. Teamwork here does not only exist on paper; we actually live it,” explains Vesna, adding that it is important for every employee to have a developed sense of their role in the complex mosaic that is JGL, and to feel the importance about their ideas and brave to express them.
Production and technology platform expert
“There is no greater feeling than passing our new manufacturing plant while driving on the motorway at night, and realising your own personal contribution, however small, to the change in the skyline at the entrance to the city of Rijeka. I believe that all of us at JGL can be proud of the results we have achieved by working together, which will probably outlast us all,” says Mirko Puntijar, a mechanical engineer by profession and an expert in JGL’s production and technology platform.
Mirko emphasizes that his work and fulfilment of planned goals is motivation in and of itself. Each day brings new challenges and situations, which almost never repeat themselves and which require maximum attention and agility to resolve. “Solving these problems often brings new experiences and knowledge. However, there is nothing I find more satisfying than the projects I work on during the day, when I elaborate construction details, create spatial layouts, and monitor the creation and realisation of something that until recently existed only as letters and lines on a piece of paper,” he concludes.

“Every morning I look forward to meeting my JGL team. We begin each day with a discussion of yesterday’s sales and the results we have by that day. I carry out internal co-ordinations and participate in many meetings, and I try to be in constant contact with customers and partners. Due to our presence in many different regions, I have to meet some of our associates in the field because this is the only way I can get a clearer picture of their team spirit and results,” says Irina, who highly values JGL’s entrepreneurial spirit and culture of encouraging new ideas and initiatives, and sharing and expanding responsibilities.

“I am highly motivated by being able to directly contribute to the growth of the company. Taking part in the development of the dermatology segment and witnessing the results of my input is very important to me. I am also motivated by my colleagues every day, while we work on bringing different projects to life. I also appreciate the fact that our company pays great attention to ensuring the consistent high quality of its products, complying with the current regulatory requirements, and carefully selecting its suppliers,” says Natalija. She believes that the key values everyone should be guided by in their day-to-day work are willingness to listen to others, being open to cooperation, and staying focused on the common goal.
